Anna Abalikhina

Russia, 1981

Choreographer, dancer, director, curator and teacher. Graduated from the Moscow Choreographic Lyceum and the Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Worked in the Dutch company Galili Dance and In-Jung in Germany, participated in the projects of Rodolfo Leoni and Anouk van Dijk. Collaborates with composers, video artists, programmers and engineers. Participant of international festivals and laboratories, resident of the American Dance Festival. She worked at the Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theater in Perm, the Novosibirsk Red Torch Theater, Meyerhold Center and Gogol Center in Moscow. In 2013-2014 she curated the dance program at Kirill Serebrenikov’s project Platform in Moscow. In 2020-2022 she was art director of the festival and school of contemporary art Territory and art director of contemporary festival for children Territory.Kids. Since March 2022 she has been based in Riga, Latvia. Since then she has co-created as choreographer 8 performances at the Dailes Theatre and Latvian National Theatre in Riga, as well as at the Klaipeda Drama Theatre in Lithuania. In 2023 she directed the play Eurydice by Sara Ruhl at the Dailes Theatre.
